January 29th - Evening News

Night of the 29th - We discussed the MRI results with Dr. Joseph Dicroce, Miles' primary physician here in Latrobe. The MRI showed that Miles had a stroke in his left Occipital lobe that Dr. Dicroce described as moderate (about 4 on a scale of 1 to 10).
  • Stroke was one of the primary risks of the surgery Miles had and explains the limited movement on his right side.
  • The good news is that his stroke was not more severe and was ischemic and not the result of a hemorrhage.
  • The other good news is that it should not impede his recovery at this stage.
  • While we wish it hadn't happened, understanding the situation more fully is helpful.

"The improvement of understanding is for two ends: first, our own increase of knowledge; secondly, to enable us to deliver that knowledge to others."
