Saturday was fairly quiet. Sons John and Mike are visiting, which brought good feelings to Mom and Dad.
His doctor continues to be encouraged with Dad's progress, slow though it is. This, in turn, provides encouragement to all of us.
Dad slept most of the day Saturday, but his vital signs remain strong and steady and he seems to be tolerating the smaller trach, but with somewhat labored breathing.
Son John delivered a surprise gift to Dad. It got a grin from Dad, a good laugh from Mom and shocked the nursing staff.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for Dad's complete healing, and for strength and peace for Dad and Mom throughout these issues.
Miles, I just got notified that you have been requested to return to the NAC because you think like they do. I told them you were a little busy right now, but would surely go back when you are able. I know how much you miss those meetings. Hang in there old friend. Back and I want to come visit you if we ever get rid of this snow. Iron Mike
Dad passed away April 23, 2010 at 9:30 AM EDT at the Hospice Care facility in Elkins. A copy of his obituary can be seen here or in the Inter-Mountain.
