- One development sneaked (snuck, if you prefer) past us in the move from TICU. Dad's off the ventilator completely.
- He still gets an oxygen assist through the trach mask, but getting off the ventilator is a big deal, I think.
- Vital signs remain strong and steady.
- Mom reports that he is polite and talkative with most folks - especially visitors - but, didn't have much to say to Mom through the day. He asked for help getting up so he could get to the car. He is frustrated and put out that that's not possible yet. I've had a few of those moments with him - it's heartbreaking.
- The nurse reported to Mom that Dad's left foot looked better than the previous day. That's encouraging.
- We have gotten some mixed signals over the last 10 days. My impression is that every resident has an opinion, and they're all over the place. My attitude is to soak in the good, let go of the bad and look to the senior docs for actual guidance. One of the downsides of being in a teaching facility, I guess.
Thursday was an OK day. More of the same and still waiting on a bed to open up at Select.
- Dad's roommate moved out - off to a nursing home, I'm told. So that's a short term relief.
- Vitals continue to be solid.
